Privacy Notice — Perfect Loglines

This Privacy Notice explains how Attention Grabbing LLC("we", "us"), an Illinois limited liability company, collects and uses your personal data when you use Perfect Loglines (the "Service"). We are the data controller for the personal data described here.

1. Data we collect

Account data: email address, password (hashed), country, and date of birth. We collect your date of birth solely to verify that you meet the minimum digital-consent age for your country. We do not use it for marketing, profiling, or any purpose other than age verification.
Content: the story ideas you submit and the loglines generated for you.
Usage and device data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, timestamps, error logs.
Billing data: handled by our payment processor Paddle. We receive limited information such as transaction ID, amount, country, and last four digits of a card. We do not store full payment card details.
Communications: messages you send us for support.

2. How we use your data

To provide the Service — create your account, generate loglines, and save your history.
To verify your age during signup and prevent accounts from underage users where the law requires it.
To process payments and issue credits.
To keep the Service secure and prevent fraud or abuse.
To fix bugs and improve the Service (aggregated, non-identifying).
To respond to your support requests.
To comply with legal obligations (for example, tax records).

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your story ideas or loglines to train AI models.

3. Legal bases (UK/EEA users)

Contract: to provide the Service you signed up for.
Legitimate interests: security, fraud prevention, product improvement, and defending legal claims.
Legal obligation: tax and accounting records.
Consent: where required (for example, non-essential cookies).

4. Who we share data with

Hosting and infrastructure providers that run our servers and database.
AI providers that process your story idea to generate the logline (only your prompt is sent; no account identifier).
Paddle.com Inc., our Merchant of Record, for payments, subscription management, tax compliance, and invoicing.
Professional advisers (legal, accounting).
Authorities where required by law.

5. International transfers

We are based in the United States. If you are in the UK or EEA, your data may be transferred to and processed in the US and other countries. Where required, we rely on approved safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. Retention

Story ideas and loglines: kept while your account is active; deleted immediately when you delete an item or your account.
Account data: deleted when you delete your account.
Billing and tax records: retained for seven (7) years to comply with IRS requirements.
Server logs: typically retained up to 90 days for security.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

access the personal data we hold about you;
correct inaccurate data;
delete your data (subject to our tax-record retention obligations);
restrict or object to processing;
data portability;
withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

You can delete your account (and, immediately, all associated story ideas and loglines) from your account settings. For other requests, email legal@perfectloglines.com. We aim to respond within one month.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege server functions. No system is 100% secure; you use the Service at your own risk.

9. Cookies

We use only essential cookies and local storage needed to keep you signed in and remember your language preference. We do not run advertising cookies. If this changes we will update this notice and, where required, ask for consent.

10. Children

The Service is not intended for anyone under the minimum digital-consent age for their country. If we learn we have collected personal data from an underage user without appropriate consent, we will delete it.

11. California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA"), as amended by the CPRA, gives you specific rights. In the last 12 months we have collected the following categories of personal information for the purposes described in section 2 above:

Identifiers (email address, account ID, IP address).
Customer records (country, date of birth for age verification).
Commercial information (transaction history via Paddle).
Internet or network activity (usage logs, error logs).
User-generated content (story ideas and generated loglines).

You have the right to:

know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose;
request access to and a copy of your personal information;
request deletion of your personal information (subject to our tax-record retention obligations);
correct inaccurate personal information;
opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information; and
be free from retaliation for exercising these rights.

We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would trigger a right to limit use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from consumers under 16.

To exercise any of these rights, email legal@perfectloglines.com or delete your account from your account settings. We will verify your request against the email on your account. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf; we may require written permission and identity verification.

12. Changes

We may update this Privacy Notice. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email.
